Financial Planning

Budgeting is a good way of controlling your expenditure. It allows you to keep track of your finances so that you don’t get carried away. It helps in putting away monies that will come in handy in the future. As a professional, you must prove that you can be trusted with money by planning your personal finances.
In creating a realistic budget, knowledge of earning power is crucial. Essential expenditure (food, rent/mortgage, school fees, utilities, insurance, savings, etc); must be first be listed and subtracted from total monthly earnings. This will be followed by wants if there is any sum remaining. Figures must be allocated to each item and strictly adhered to. A savings for emergency must be opened as well as setting apart funds for lifelong learning.

Professional Presence

The import of financial planning cannot be overemphasized. If a professional can map out his/her finances and stay true to it, it will help to prevent the destabilization that comes with financial difficulties. It will also allow him/her to beable to afford the continous education that is necessary for his career.
The results of not planning properly is obvious - unneeded stress which may impact negatively on everyday relationships, family life and health.
I would include essential self-developing short courses in my budgetting or professional conferences that will propel my career forward.

Professional Attire

As I went through the list, I coudn't help laughing as I have broken most of the rules in the book! I am a bit of a fashion person so I have experimented with a lot in the past. Over the years, I have realized that these excessive attires can be distracting to the clients and may even cause the guys to start flirting with you. I have learnt to tone it down. I once wore a 5 inch stilletos for a 5 hour ward round. The next day, I walked around with a limp! I would never do that in my lifetime, not ever! Thankfully, I never dyed or wore excessive jewelry.
The only issue that I have with the credibility robbers is the designer purses. I do not think that designer bags are wrong. Large, oversized purses are more functional for a lady. I stand to be corrected.
I choose the medical profession as I am a public health pharmacist. I observed that their dressings were neat, not distracting and the colors are soothing to the eyes.Their hairdos and makeup is not over the top. Most of the time, pharmacists are covered in white lab coat, it is important that the lab coats are always kept clean. Medical professionals should always be smart and ready to deliver information and counsel their clients when necessary.
I like to listen to my clients. I also like to be updated with drug information all the time. I think that they are valuable characteristics as listening will help me to meet their needs while knowledge acquisition boosts my confidence while delivering service to the client.
I imagine myself as having multiple nose rings and ear holes with tatoos all over my arms and legs. I have just been invited to the interview. After reviewing the dos and don'ts of the organization, I would have to find a way of minimizing how my body piercings and tatoos look. I would wear apparel that would cover me up completely, like a trouser suit. Secondly, I will wear a hairdo that will cover my ear piercings. Thirdly, I will put on make up to cover my nasal piercings. I would have to watch closely at the interviewer. If I notice that my piercings are being noticed, then I would have to explain that I got them in my former life.
As for pursuing a career in that organization, I would have to stick to their rules of engagement, play my role in the most effective way that I can, in such a way that no one will remember how I look!
